Mid City Real Estate & Info

Mid-city is a up and coming neighborhood in NOLA and many of its residents have pledged eternal allegiance to this artsy, historic and continuously growing part of town.  Mid-city has experienced major growth in the last year, as it has added more and more shops and restaurants by the month.  These new conveniences have helped many buyers decide the homes for sale in Mid-city are an ideal match for their needs.
Two of New Orleans’ biggest streets run through Mid-city: Canal Street, traveling through downtown to the French Quarter; and Carrollton Avenue, running from the Riverbend to City Park.  Scattered along both of these major thoroughfares are restaurants and shopping options galore.  Mid-city’s many corner bars show that this neighborhood specializes in catching up with friends, enjoying the game and welcoming you back again tomorrow.

Beer, Cocktails and Games

There are many watering holes worth visiting; but some local favorites may convince you to start spending all of your weekends in Mid-city.  The options are varied and buyers considering Mid-city homes for sale often visit several local hot spots before finding that special mix of cocktails and regulars that feel like their home away from home.

Finn McCool’s, 3701 Banks Street, is a jumping Irish Pub with an awesome beer selection and tons of games to keep you entertained.  You can often catch a professional soccer or rugby game on the television or sign up for trivia night to test your knowledge (and luck!).  It offers delicious bar food, pool tables, board games and limited outdoor seating on a beautiful day.  It has become a Mid-city institution and has received rave reviews from many local publications.

12 Mile Limit, 500 Telemachus Street, is a hidden gem on a quiet residential street. One might pass right by it if not for the giant squid/alien mural on the side of the building and the lingering smell of Bar-B-Q.  The pool table and giant jenga game are prime for a good time.  However, the craft cocktails are the real stars at this Mid-city establishment.
Bayou Beer Garden, 326 Jefferson Davis Parkway, is just as the name implies – a killer spot to enjoy a steamy NOLA night and yummy beer & spirits.  There is often live music on the large back patio and the kitchen churns out flavorful burgers, sandwiches and more all evening.
Pal’s Lounge, 949 North Rendon Street, is the quintessential neighborhood bar.  The air hockey table and pinball machine keep the mood light in this smaller spot.  What it lacks in size it more than makes up for in dreamy bloody marys and old school hospitality. The kitchen supplies bar food favorites and the X-rated facilities make even a potty break an enjoyable experience!
